They are determined to reverse the devastating processes done to these unique ecosystems, caused by out of control large scale mining of one of the most bio-diverse eco-regions of the world.

Green Gold demands compliance with socially and environmentally responsible practices, by imposing a rigorous certification process on all mining methods, this then puts an added value on the metals produced. There principles and values include Democracy, agreement, transparency, reflection, equity, equality, pro-activity, commitment, respect for ethnic and culture diversity.

The Green Gold Corporation is being recognized today by its efficiency and commitment to the socio-environmental management in the Biogeographic regions of Choco, as a result of a qualified human resource, a solid infrastructure and five ongoing projects. These programs look to reverse the devastating processes done to these unique ecosystems, caused by out of control large scale mining of one of the most bio-diverse eco-regions of the world.

1300 artisan miners have been certified by Oro Verde®, which means they are committed to the protection of 7900 hectares of tropical rainforest, and on the last 2 years received around USD 18500 premium (price paid over the market price) by the metal sold. By increasing the income of the families involved, the program promotes social inclusion. Complementary to Oro Verde, a capacity building program for the Community Council leaders has been executed, giving them the needed skills and abilities to create and manage their own initiatives, empowering the communities and fostering sustainability.
